Wishlist Plus Product Insights — Shopify Admin Block

Wishlist Plus Product Insights shows real-time wishlist demand and revenue potential for any product, right inside your Shopify Admin.

Updated over a week ago

What is Product Insights?

Wishlist Plus Product Insights is an information card that lives directly on your Shopify Admin Product Details page. It gives you instant, at-a-glance insight into how many shoppers have wishlisted a specific product and how much potential revenue that represents — without ever leaving your product editing workflow.

Think of it as a built-in demand signal: every time you open a product in your Shopify Admin, you’ll see how popular it is with your shoppers and what you can do about it.

How It Works

When you navigate to any product in your Shopify Admin (Admin → Products → [any product]), you’ll see a Product Insights block in the right sidebar under “Blocks.” This block automatically pulls two pieces of data for the product you’re viewing:

  • Wishlist Saves — the number of shoppers who have saved this product

  • Product Price — the current listed price of the item

It then calculates the Wishlist Value — the total potential revenue sitting in your shoppers’ wishlists for that item (Wishlist Saves × Product Price). No setup or configuration is needed to start seeing data. The block reads wishlist save counts that Swym Wishlist Plus already tracks for your store.

What You’ll See: Three Smart Views

The block adapts its display based on how much demand a product has, so the guidance you receive is always relevant.

1. Low Interest (5 or fewer saves)

If a product has very few wishlist saves, the block shows the total save count and a message encouraging you to boost the item’s visibility. It includes a Wishlist Tips button that links to Swym’s best-practices blog, giving you actionable strategies to increase customer engagement and tracking for that product.

2. Trending (more than 5 and fewer than 50 saves)

More than 5 and fewer than 50 saves

When a product starts gaining traction, the block highlights it with a Trending badge. You’ll see the estimated potential revenue (for example, “$19,215 in Potential Revenue”) and a contextual message like “35 shoppers are tracking this $549 item.”

3. High Demand (50 or more saves)

Products with strong wishlist engagement get a celebratory High Demand badge. The block prominently displays the Wishlist value sitting in wishlists (e.g., “$60,500 Value in Wishlists”) along with the number of shoppers who haven’t checked out yet.

How to Enable It

The Product Insights block is automatically available once your store has the Swym Wishlist Plus app installed and updated. To view it:

  • Navigate to any product in your Shopify Admin (Admin → Products → [any product])

  • The block appears in the “Blocks” section of the product details page

  • Use Shopify’s native block settings to show, hide, or reorder it

No additional setup or configuration is required. If Wishlist Plus is installed and shoppers are using your wishlist, data populates automatically.

What Actions Can You Take?

The block connects insight with action. Depending on the demand level, you’ll see buttons that link directly into Wishlist Plus:

Frequently Asked Questions

Where exactly does this block appear?

It appears on the Product Details page in your Shopify Admin — the same page where you edit a product’s title, description, pricing, and variants. Look for it in the “Blocks” section of the right sidebar.

Do I need to configure anything to see wishlist data?

No. As long as Swym Wishlist Plus is installed on your store and shoppers are using the wishlist feature, the data populates automatically. If a product has no wishlist saves yet, the count will show as zero.

What does “Wishlist Value” mean?

It’s the number of wishlist saves multiplied by the product’s price. For example, if 35 shoppers wishlisted a $549 item, the wishlist value is $19,215. This represents revenue that could be recovered through targeted campaigns.

Can I hide the block if I don’t want to see it?

Yes. Shopify lets you manage which blocks appear on the product details page. You can remove or reorder the Product Insights block using Shopify’s standard block controls.

Does this affect my storefront or what my customers see?

No. This block is exclusively an admin-side feature. It only appears to you (and your staff) inside the Shopify Admin. Your customers and storefront are not affected in any way.
