Our data proves Wishlist Plus boosts sales and increases revenue. But don’t just take our word for it. Determining how much revenue Wishlist Plus is generating for your site is easy.
Swym calculates the portion of your total site revenue that comes from shoppers who either interact with a Wishlist Plus feature or engage with a notification sent by the app. This figure is reported as “Revenue from Wishlist Plus.”
In this help document, we’ll explain exactly how Swym attributes that revenue and show you where to find the data.
How Does Swym Attribute Revenue to Wishlist Plus?
Swym tracks attributed revenue in two primary ways:
1. Revenue from Wishlist Interactions
We attribute a purchase to Wishlist Plus when a shopper performs any of the following actions, then completes a purchase within 30 days:
Adds a product to their wishlist (either proactively or through nudges like Smart Save, Wishlist Nudge)
Moves a wishlisted product to the cart
Opens a product from their wishlist
Marks an item as Saved for Later in the cart
Moves a Saved for Later product to the cart
Opens the product details page from the Saved for Later section in the cart
📈 Did You Know?
For merchants who adopted Smart Save, revenue from Smart Save–wishlisted items is up to 4x higher than revenue from manually wishlisted products.
And it gets even better—when alerts like back-in-stock or price drop notifications are triggered from Smart Save items, click-through and conversion rates can increase by up to 4x than before they enabled it, based on results from 2000 merchants who now use it.
Note: If a shopper purchases a different variant (e.g., size or color) of a wishlisted product, that revenue is still attributed to Wishlist Plus.
2. Revenue from Wishlist Notifications
Swym also attributes revenue when a shopper clicks a Wishlist Plus notification and purchases any item during that session.
These notifications include:
Back-in-stock alerts
Price drop alerts
Low stock alerts
Wishlist reminder emails
Since January 2024, attribution has become more accurate for Shopify and Shopify Plus stores. Swym uses UTM tracking and Shopify APIs to match clicks on notifications with purchases.
Note on ESPs: If you use a third-party email platform (like Klaviyo) to send wishlist notifications, revenue will only be attributed if the links preserve Swym’s UTM tracking. Otherwise, purchases won’t be attributed to Wishlist Plus in your dashboard, though they may appear in your ESP’s reporting.
Anonymous shoppers: For shoppers who haven’t logged in, Swym uses device fingerprinting to connect their wishlist actions to purchases.
How to Find Wishlist Plus Revenue Data
To view attributed revenue:
Go to your Shopify admin > Swym Wishlist Plus app > Insights tab — you’ll see wishlist revenue data, potential revenue from items still in wishlists, and a breakdown of your top saved products.
Or open your Swym admin dashboard and choose your desired date range: last 30 days or month-to-date.
You’ll also find this data in the Wishlist Metrics Report in Swym admin, along with other engagement insights like total wishlist actions and top saved products.
How Is Swym AOV Calculated?
Swym’s Average Order Value (AOV) is calculated as follows:
Identify all orders that include at least one wishlisted item
Add the total value of those orders
Divide by the number of such orders
This gives you a true picture of the purchasing power of wishlisting shoppers.
Wishlist Plus Revenue Attribution Limits
Some email service providers (ESPs) don’t support the UTM parameters Swym uses to track clicks and purchases. As a result, Wishlist Plus may not be able to attribute revenue from notifications sent via those ESPs.
If a shopper clicks a notification without a Swym-tracked URL and makes a purchase, that revenue won’t be reflected under Wishlist Plus attribution.
However, your ESP will still report on revenue from those campaigns. You can use both tools together to get a fuller picture.
