Installation and configuring the Wishlist Plus App on your Shopify Store

Updated over a week ago

Welcome to Swym Wishlist Plus! This is your quick-start guide to getting up and running.

In today’s fast-moving online world, shoppers often browse multiple times before making a purchase. They explore, compare, and return, and without a way to save the products they love, it’s easy for them to forget what caught their eye.

That’s where Swym Wishlist Plus comes in.

It helps your customers build personalised wishlists they can access anytime, on any device, making it simple to pick up where they left off and complete their purchase.

Setting up the Wishlist Plus app on your Shopify Store is easy and requires no coding. Follow our quick guide to get started.

  1. Navigate to the Shopify App Store page for Wishlist Plus at https://apps.shopify.com/swym-relay and click on the Install button.

  2. Review and approve the permissions on your Shopify Admin, then click "Install"

  3. Once you've installed Wishlist Plus, click on get started.

  4. To get started with the basic setup and make sure your Wishlist matches your store’s look, choose the primary and secondary colors used in your website’s branding.

  5. Next, choose your store category. This helps us set up features commonly used by similar stores in your industry. These settings are enabled by default based on what's popular in your category. Then, select the theme you’d like to install the app on and click 'Continue'.

  6. Based on your previous selections, the basic settings will be pre-configured. You can adjust them now from this dashboard or make changes later during the setup process. For further customizations, you can click on each individual option card.

  7. Let's start with the Wishlist button on the product page. You can adjust the position, type, appearance, and labeling of the button from this section.

    1. Available Positions:

    • Near Cart Button

      • Above cart button

      • Below cart button

      • Left of cart button

      • Right of cart button

    • On Product Image

      • Top left

      • Top right

      • Bottom left

      • Bottom right

    2. Types:

    • Icon and text

    • Only text

    • Only icon

    3. Appearance:

    • Solid: A solid button with a background set to the primary color.

    • Outline: The button content, a border, and a transparent background.

    • Plain: Just the button content.

  8. You can view a preview your changes on the right. Click on save to move forward with the next step.

  9. Next is the collections button. Click on the toggle button to enable or disable the Wishlist icon on collections pages. You can edit your configuration from the edit icon.

  10. The position configuration is provided during onboarding. For advanced customizations, such as changing the color, icon, size, enabling the variant selector, or troubleshooting missing icons in your theme, refer to the linked article.

  11. Save for Later helps reduce cart abandonment. When enabled, a pop-up appears on your store prompting shoppers to add items to their Save for Later list when a product is removed from the cart, making it easy for them to return to it later.

  12. Smart Save automatically adds products to a shopper’s wishlist when they view a product page multiple times. This feature addresses situations where shoppers show repeated interest in a product but don’t manually add it to their wishlist or cart.

  13. By choosing the Dedicated Wishlist Page option, the wishlist will appear as a separate page on your storefront. Click the edit icon to change the display format to either a slide-in drawer or a pop-up modal.

  14. On the same screen, you can choose the launch point format to control how shoppers access their wishlist.
Header Icon – Displays an icon next to the cart icon in the header. For supported themes, this is added automatically. If you see a “Not Supported” banner, refer to the linked article to add it manually from the theme files, or reach out to our support team for assistance.

  15. Floating Button – Displays the launch point as a static, floating button on the screen. You can adjust its position to fit your store’s layout.

  16. Navigation Menu – Needs to be added from the Shopify admin settings. For more information, refer to the linked article.

  17. A preview will be available on the right. Click on Save to move forward with the next steps.

  18. Wishlist Sharing allows shoppers to share their Wishlists with their friends and family.

  19. With Multiple Wishlists, shoppers can categorize their favorite products by adding them to separate lists.

  20. With Wishlist Plus, you can send marketing emails, making it a powerful marketing tool. This option enables alerts using our default sender, which you can later customize from the Marketing tab. Please note that this feature is available only on our paid plans.

  21. Once you’ve confirmed that the setup meets your preferences, click Continue to proceed.

  22. This screen takes you to the theme editor, allowing you to preview the setup within the Shopify theme customizer for your selected theme.

  23. Make sure you have the App Control Center embed enabled on your selected theme.

  24. With the Collections Advanced app embed, you can enable or disable the collections icon and access additional customization options for the icon’s appearance and behavior.

  25. Click on save.

  26. Exit to go back to the previous screen.

  27. Et voilà! Wishlist Plus is now setup on your store. Continue to the plan selection phase to ensure the app is enabled with your chosen configuration. Feel free to reach out to our support team should you require assistance at any step.
