Dotdigital Integration

Directions to set up DotDigital integration with Swym Apps

The Swym + Dotdigital integration works with both the Swym Wishlist Plus and Swym Back in Stock Alerts apps to help you create personalized email campaigns.

This integration ensures real-time or near real-time delivery of Swym events into Dotdigital, enabling you to:

  • Build automated campaigns (e.g., wishlist reminders, back-in-stock notifications, etc.).

  • Personalize messaging using rich shopper intent data

Depending on which Swym app(s) you have installed, Swym can trigger the following events in Dotdigital.


Swym Wishlist Plus App Events

Swym Back in Stock Alerts App Events

Event Name

Shopper subscribes to be notified when a product is back in stock

Product a shopper requested a back-in-stock alert for is restocked

Follow-up alert (usually ~24 hrs after the first restock alert, configurable)

Pre-requisites

  • The Dotdigital integration is available only on the Enterprise plans of Wishlist Plus and Swym Back in Stock Alerts apps.

  • Your Dotdigital account is integrated with your Shopify/BigCommerce store.


How to Set Up the Integration

Enabling the Swym + Dotdigital integration is simple. Our team will set it up for you once you share the required details.

  1. Email our support team at [email protected] with the following:

    • API Username and Password

      • Create this in your Dotdigital dashboard:
        Settings > Access > API Users > Add New API User

      • Refer to Dotdigital’s API User guide for step-by-step help.

    • Share credentials securely via OneTimeSecret (a one-time, self-destructing link tool) to protect your API keys.

    • List of Events

      • Select from the event tables above.

      • Only events supported by the Swym apps you have installed can be enabled.

  2. Access for Template Setup

    • Add [email protected] as a collaborator on your Dotdigital account.

    • We’ll set up the base templates:

      • Marketing events → Triggered Emails

      • Transactional events → Pre-configured email templates

    • You can later customize these templates to match your brand guidelines.


What Happens Next

Once we receive your details, our team will:

  1. Enable the integration from the backend.

  2. Build and configure the necessary Triggered Emails and templates.

  3. Share the templates with you for review.

  4. Go live once you approve.
