This guide walks you through setting up Mailchimp and Mandrill (Mailchimp Transactional) integration with Wishlist Plus and/ or Swym Back in Stock Alerts (SBiSA).
Pre-requisites
You must be on a Starter plan or higher on Wishlist Plus or SBiSA.
To send emails, you must have a Mandrill Add-on (Mailchimp Transactional account).
The integration is configured from Swym Admin. If you do not have access, please email [email protected] to receive your login credentials.
Integration Use Cases
The Mailchimp integration supports two use cases (for Wishlist Plus and SBiSA):
1. Add shoppers to a mailing list (via Mailchimp)
Automatically add shoppers captured on your storefront to a selected Mailchimp marketing list.
2. Send retargeting emails (via Mandrill)
Event-based emails such as wishlist reminders and back-in-stock alerts.
Supported emails for Wishlist Plus app:
Event | What It Means |
Wishlist Reminder | Reminder email sent to shoppers about items saved to their wishlist. |
Price Drop Alert | Triggered when a wishlisted product’s price decreases. |
Low Stock Alert | Sent when a wishlisted product is running low in inventory. |
Back in Stock Alert | Sent when a previously out-of-stock wishlisted product is restocked. |
Supported emails for Swym Back in Stock Alerts app:
Event | What It Means |
Back in Stock Alert | Sent when a shopper-subscribed product is restocked. |
Back in Stock Second Reminder | Follow-up reminder if the product remains in stock (default delay: 24 hours, configurable). |
Add Shoppers to a Mailing List (Mailchimp)
This setup ensures shoppers captured on your storefront by either Swym Wishlist Plus or Swym Back in Stock Alerts app are automatically added to a selected Mailchimp audience.
Steps:
Log in to Swym Admin → Integrations.
Click Configure under the Mailchimp tile.
Under Integration Status, click Enable for Mailchimp.
Under Authentication, click Connect.
Log in to Mailchimp and click Allow to authorize Swym.
After redirecting back to Swym Admin, select the corresponding list(s) under Add to marketing mailing lists to which the Wishlist or SBiSA shoppers need to be added to.
Click Save Changes.
Shoppers will now be added to your selected Mailchimp list(s).
Send Retargeting Emails (Mandrill)
This allows Swym to trigger transactional emails based on shopper actions.
Steps:
Go to Swym Admin → Integrations.
Click Configure under Mailchimp.
Under Integration Status, enable Mandrill integration.
Enter your Mandrill API key in the Authentication section. Refer to this document to create a Mandrill API key, if you do not already have one.
Navigate to Events → Configure Triggers and select the events for which you want emails sent.
Click Save Changes.
Optional Email Customizations
The following can be customized by you for each event:
From Email Address (must use a domain verified in Mandrill)
From Name
Subject Line for each event
Reply-To Address
