Overview
You can automatically award Yotpo loyalty points when a shopper takes a wishlist action, without writing any code. Wishlist Plus publishes ready-made Shopify Flow templates that connect a Wishlist Plus trigger to Yotpo's Reward Points action, so points are granted through your Yotpo program.
Two behaviours you can reward today:
Adds an item to their wishlist
Shares their wishlist
Rewarding these actions gives shoppers a reason to build and share their wishlists, and it surfaces high-intent shoppers you can re-engage later.
How it works
The setup connects three apps:
Wishlist Plus fires a trigger in Shopify Flow (Item Added to Wishlist or Wishlist Shared).
Shopify Flow runs Yotpo's Reward Points action on that trigger.
Yotpo Loyalty matches the action to a Custom Earning Rule you created and awards points based on that rule.
The link between Flow and Yotpo is the Action name. You create a Custom Earning Rule in Yotpo and give it an Action name (Step 1), then enter that exact same name in the Reward Points action in Flow (Step 3). The names must match for points to be awarded.
Before you start
Make sure the following are installed on your store:
Wishlist Plus
Yotpo Loyalty
Shopify Flow (free from the Shopify App Store)
You will need admin access to both Wishlist Plus and Yotpo.
Step 1: Create a Custom Earning Rule in Yotpo and note the Action name
Each behaviour you reward needs its own Custom Earning Rule, so create one for Add to wishlist and, if you also want to reward sharing, a second one for Share wishlist. Creating a separate rule for each lets you set different names, points, and thresholds.
In your Yotpo Loyalty admin, create a new Custom Action earning rule.
In the Action name field, enter a descriptive name, for example Added 10 items to wishlist.
Important: this exact name is what you will enter in the Shopify Flow Reward Points action in Step 3, so copy it and keep it handy. The names must match exactly.
Set the points the shopper earns for completing this action.
In the Rewards history text field, enter the text shoppers will see in their rewards history, for example Points for wishlisting 10 items.
Open Advanced settings and configure two controls:
Minimum times completed: the minimum number of times a shopper must perform the action before they receive the reward. This is your threshold.
For Add 10 items to their wishlist, set this to 10.
For Share their wishlist, set this to the number of shares you want to require (for example 1, or a higher number if you want them to share with multiple people).
Maximum times completed: the maximum number of times each customer can complete this rule. Set a cap here to prevent points farming. For a one-off reward, set this to 1 so a shopper cannot earn repeatedly for the same behaviour.
Save the rule.
If you are setting up both templates, repeat this step to create a second rule (for example, Shared their wishlist) with its own Action name and threshold.

Step 2: Add the Wishlist Plus template to Shopify Flow
Wishlist Plus publishes the Yotpo templates to the Shopify Flow template library. The easiest place to find them is the Automations page inside Wishlist Plus.
Open Wishlist Plus in your Shopify admin.
Go to Automations.
Use the Yotpo filter to narrow the list, then locate the template you want:
Click Add to Flow below the template. This opens the pre-built workflow inside Shopify Flow, ready to configure.
Step 3: Configure the Reward Points action with your Action name
In the workflow that just opened in Shopify Flow, click the Reward Points action to open it.
Enter the Action name exactly as you created it in Yotpo in Step 1.
Match the name to the behavior. Use the "Added 10 items to wishlist" Action name in the add-to-wishlist template, and the "Shared their wishlist" Action name in the share template.
The name is matched exactly, so watch for typos, spacing, and capitalization.
Save the action and turn the workflow on.
Step 4: Add the earning rule to the Rewards page and set it Active
Creating the rule is not enough on its own. To make it visible to shoppers and start awarding points, you need to publish it.
In your Yotpo Loyalty admin, add the Custom Earning Rule to your Rewards page.
Set the rule to Active.
Once the rule is active and on the Rewards page, it appears on your storefront, which is what nudges shoppers to add items or share their wishlist. Points are then awarded automatically once a shopper meets the Minimum times completed threshold you set.
Troubleshooting
Points are not being awarded
Confirm the Shopify Flow workflow is turned on.
Confirm the Action name in the Reward Points action matches the Yotpo rule exactly, including spacing and capitalization.
Confirm the earning rule is set to Active and added to the Rewards page in Yotpo.
Check whether the shopper has reached the Minimum times completed threshold. For the "adds 10 items" rule, no points are granted until they hit 10.
Points are going to the wrong action, or amounts look off
Make sure each template uses its own Action name. Reusing one name across both templates causes the two behaviors to share the same rule, points, and threshold.
I do not see the Yotpo templates on the Automations page
Confirm both Yotpo Loyalty and Shopify Flow are installed on the store, then use the Yotpo filter on the Automations page.
