Feature availability: Wishlist Plus · Enabled by default
Overview
Saved For You is a new tab in your shoppers' wishlist experience that automatically captures products they've shown strong interest in — without them needing to manually add anything. Think of it as a smart, passive companion to the regular wishlist: it surfaces products shoppers are likely to buy, making it easier for them to pick up where they left off.
The "Saved For You" tab appears alongside My Wishlist in the wishlist panel and is populated entirely automatically based on shopper behaviour signals.
How does a product get saved automatically?
A product is added to a shopper's "Saved For You" list when either of the following behaviour patterns is detected on a Product Detail Page (PDP):
Trigger | Condition |
Repeat views | Shopper views the same product 3 or more times (each page load or tab focus lasting >10 seconds counts as one visit) |
Deep engagement | Shopper spends more than 30 seconds on the PDP and scrolls past 70% of the page height in a single session |
Note: Both guest shoppers and logged-in customers are supported. Guest data is stored in compliance with your store's local consent and GDPR settings — the same way your existing wishlist handles guest data. If a guest later logs in, their saved items are automatically merged into their account.
What does the shopper experience look like?
The "Saved For You" tab appears as the second tab in the wishlist panel, right after "My Wishlist."
The tab is hidden until at least one item has been auto-saved — shoppers with no auto-saved items will not see the tab at all.
Items are displayed in reverse-chronological order (most recently saved first).
Product cards in "Saved For You" look identical to regular wishlist cards. Each card shows:
Add to Cart — primary call-to-action
Add to Wishlist — secondary call-to-action (moves the item to the shopper's regular wishlist)
A remove option (⋮ menu) to dismiss individual items
There is no limit on the number of items that can appear in "Saved For You."
What happens when a shopper takes action?
Shopper action | Result |
Clicks Add to Cart | CTA updates to "Added to cart"; item remains in "Saved For You" |
Clicks Add to Wishlist | Item moves to the shopper's wishlist (or prompts list selection in multi-list mode); removed from "Saved For You"; success toast is shown |
Clicks Remove (⋮ menu) | Item is immediately removed from "Saved For You" |
Deduplication — how does it interact with the regular wishlist?
Swym ensures there is no overlap between a shopper's wishlist and their "Saved For You" list:
If a product is already in the shopper's wishlist, it will not be added to "Saved For You."
If a shopper manually removes a product from their wishlist, it is not automatically moved to "Saved For You" — it is simply gone.
Auto-saved items do not appear in "My Wishlist" — they are exclusively shown in the "Saved For You" tab.
The wishlist is always treated as the canonical, higher-intent list.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will "Saved For You" show up on every shopper's wishlist automatically? A: The tab only appears when a shopper has at least one auto-saved item. Shoppers with no qualifying behaviour will not see the tab.
Q: Can shoppers opt out of having products auto-saved? A: There is no shopper-facing opt-out in this release. Guest data handling follows your existing GDPR consent settings.
Q: What happens if I use multi-list (collections) mode? A: In multi-list mode, auto-saved items are stored in a dedicated internal list called "Saved For Me." This list is separate from your shoppers' named collections and only surfaces in the "Saved For You" tab — it does not appear in the collections carousel.
Q: What if a shopper adds an item from "Saved For You" to a specific list (in multi-list mode)? A: The shopper is prompted to select their desired destination list. Once moved, the item is removed from "Saved For You."
Q: Does this affect my store's wishlist analytics? A: Yes — dedicated analytics events are tracked for all "Saved For You" interactions, including tab views, add-to-cart, move-to-wishlist, and item removal. These events are separate from standard wishlist events and will appear in your analytics data under the saved_for_you_* event namespace.
Q: I want to disable this feature. What do I do? A: Reach out to Swym Support with your store URL and request an opt-out. The feature will be disabled via a metafield update on our side, typically within one business day.
