What is Multi-Wishlist Mode?
By default, Swym Wishlist Plus sets your store to Single List mode. This acts like a simple collection—shoppers save all items of interest into one default location.
Multi-Wishlist Mode upgrades this experience by allowing shoppers to create named collections (e.g., "Dream Kitchen," "Holiday Gifts," "Summer Wardrobe"). It transforms a simple save action into a powerful organization tool.
Storefront Experience: Single vs. Multi-Wishlist
While both modes allow your shoppers to save their favorites with a single click, the follow-up experience differs to help drive better organization.
Single Wishlist Mode: The Frictionless Save
When a shopper clicks the "Heart" or "Save" icon, the item is immediately added to their default list. A brief success message appears, and the shopper continues browsing. This is ideal for quick, high-volume saving without interruptions.
Multi-Wishlist Mode: The Organized Save
In this mode, the initial "Save" is just as fast, but it is followed by an intelligent, contextual prompt:
Immediate Confirmation: The item is saved instantly to the shopper's "Main" list.
Organization Prompt: A small pop-up appears, allowing the shopper to "Move" that item to an existing custom list (like "Winter Collection") or create a brand new list on the spot.
This subtle nudge encourages shoppers to categorize their intent, making it much easier for them to return and complete a purchase later.
Why should I switch? (The Benefits)
Data shows that shoppers who organize their wishlists are 20-30% more likely to purchase.
Higher Engagement: Shoppers spend more time on your site curating their collections.
Increased Cart Size: By grouping items (e.g., "Outfits"), shoppers are encouraged to buy complete sets rather than single items.
Better Retargeting: You gain insight into intent. A list named "Birthday Party" tells you exactly when and what to market to that customer.
How to Enable Multi-Wishlist
Upgrading is simple, but it is a permanent change to your store's structure.
Step 1: Navigate to Configuration
Open your Shopify Admin and go to Wishlist Plus > Configuration > Under Settings choose "Shopper save and share options".
Step 2: Select the Multi-Wishlist Card
You will see two options. The "Single List" will be currently active. Click on the Multi-Wishlist card (marked with the list icon).
Step 3: Confirm the Upgrade
Because this change permanently alters how data is stored (to protect list structures), you will be asked to confirm the switch.
A modal will appear explaining the "One-Way" nature of this upgrade.
Type "ENABLE" in the text box to confirm your choice.
Click Enable Mode.
Important: The "One-Way" Switch
Once you enable Multi-Wishlist mode, you cannot revert to Single List mode.
Why?
Reverting would require deleting the custom lists your shoppers have painstakingly created. To protect your customers' data and trust, we lock the setting once upgraded.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my existing shoppers lose their data?
No! All existing items in a shopper's single list will be automatically moved into their first "Default" list in the new system. They won't lose a thing—they just gain the ability to create more lists.
Do I need to change my theme?
Swym's UI automatically adapts to show the "Create New List" options on your storefront once enabled. No coding is required.
