Adding custom fields to subscribe calls for the Ometria Integration

Updated this week

This document explains how to configure your Ometria account to automatically receive a shopper's country, locale, and currency when they give out their email address and check the box for Add to Mailing List on the Capture Email Address for Guest Wishlist Users Pop-Up, allowing for deeper segmentation and retargeting.

How It Works

Our integration automatically detects a shopper's market-specific information (country, language, and currency) during their session. When a new subscriber signs up through the email capture pop-up, we pass this information directly to your Ometria account along with their email address.

To enable this feature, you simply need to create the corresponding fields in Ometria to store this data.

Configuration Steps

To ensure Ometria can receive and store this market data, please follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Ometria account.

2. Create three new custom contact fields.

You must create fields that exactly match the following names:

  • country

  • locale

  • currency

Once these fields are created, our system will begin populating them for all new subscribers automatically.

For detailed instructions on creating custom fields in Ometria, please see their official guide: Managing custom fields.

How to Confirm It's Working

After you have created the fields, you can verify the integration is working:

  1. Go to your storefront and sign up for the mailing list via the Capture Email Address for Guest Wishlist Users Pop-Up.

  2. Log in to Ometria and search for your test contact.

  3. Open the contact's profile. You should see the country, locale, and currency fields populated with the data from your test session.

If you have created the fields and do not see the data appearing for new subscribers, please contact our support team for assistance.
