What is Inventory Control?
The Swym Back-in-Stock Alerts app includes a feature that lets you set a minimum inventory threshold. This means that alerts won’t be sent to customers until you have a specific number of units back in stock. By using this feature, you can ensure there’s enough inventory to meet demand and avoid overselling right after a restock.
Note: This feature is only available for merchants on the Pro plan and above
Limited Inventory Control
The Limited Inventory Control feature allows you to set a single minimum inventory threshold for all products in your store. With this setting, alerts will only be sent once any product reaches the specified stock level, giving you simple, store-wide control over your back-in-stock notifications.
How do I enable Limited Inventory Control?
First, navigate to the Swym Admin. To go to your Swym Admin, navigate to "Dashboard" on the side menu and click on the "Go To Swym Admin" button as per the following screenshot.
If you can't see this option, scroll down to any of the Metrics tabs and select "View Details". This will take you to the Swym Admin.
Once you're in the Swym Admin, select the Swym Back in Stock Alerts option from the side menu. Then, click on the "Manage" button in the "Min Stock Threshold" section.
Click the "Enable" button in the top right of the section.
Next, adjust the Minimum Stock Value. This value will be the threshold for alerts to be sent. Until the product has this many units in stock, the alerts will not be sent. Once you've entered your desired value, simply click on the "Save Changes" button to update it!
Advanced Inventory Control (Premium and Enterprise Plans Only)
Note: This feature is only available for merchants on the Premium and Enterprise plans
The Advanced Inventory Control feature gives you more flexibility by allowing you to set unique inventory thresholds for specific products based on tags. This way, products with a certain tag can have their own stock limits, ensuring that alerts are sent only when the right amount of inventory is available for each tagged product. This is particularly useful if you have products with varying restock patterns or different levels of demand, allowing for more tailored inventory management.
How do I enable Advanced Inventory Control?
First, navigate to the Swym Admin. To go to your Swym Admin, navigate to "Dashboard" on the side menu and click on the "Go To Swym Admin" button as per the following screenshot.
If you can't see this option, scroll down to any of the Metrics tabs and select "View Details". This will take you to the Swym Admin.
Once you're in the Swym Admin, select the Swym Back in Stock Alerts option from the side menu. Then, click on the "Manage" button in the "Min Stock Threshold" section.
Click on the "Add New Threshold" option.
After this, add the Product Tag for which you want to set the threshold, and the threshold to send the alerts. Once you've done this, click on "Save Changes". After that, make sure you click on the "Enable" button in the top right if you haven't already to enable Inventory Control. If you don't want to set a threshold for other products, simply set the Minimum Inventory-Level trigger to 0.
Now that you've set up the threshold on the Swym dashboard, the next step is to add the tag that you've chosen in the previous step to a product of your choice. To do this, navigate to the Products section in your Shopify Admin. Then, select a product of your choice. All you need to do here is add the tag that you configured in the previous step. Now, alerts will only be sent for this product once it crosses the threshold you set for it earlier!
